Half a century ago Burnley faced Turf Moor games on successive Saturdays against local rivals Blackburn Rovers, one in the league and one in the cup, and in the first game recorded a second league win of the week following the Tuesday night 2-0 victory over league leaders Tottenham Hotspur.
