It all came crashing down on us last Wednesday as our wonderful Carling Cup run came to a end in the most dramatic fashion. It left thousands of Burnley fans devastated. The impossible dream had almost become reality.

So the big night came and before it began, losing 4 - 1, we consoled ourselves with the thought that for a few hours we were in the last three of the Carling Cup. Manchester United versus Burnley or Spurs.

On Wednesday night Owen Coyle's Burnley did conquer Everest, only for the summit to collapse from beneath their tiring bodies.

"Que sera sera, whatever will be, will be, we're going to Wembley, Que sera sera."
