Golf day is again a big success

Forty players enjoyed the Texas Scramble tournament that got underway at 1:00 p.m. and it was the team captained by one of the organisers, Phil Wright, that came out on top, just edging the Burnley Football Club team led by part time (his words) golfer Andy Farrell.

The event will raise over £500 for the Youth Foundation taking the total raised in just over five years to almost £47,000, and the day again went smoothly due to the excellent organisation of Phil and Tony Yates along with the support of the golf club.

I feel certain that a sixth golf day can be pencilled in for this time next year.

The fundraising continues. The First Goal Sweep for the 2011/12 season is already accepting entries whilst the Fantasy Premier League Mad game, which paid out £500 in prizes last season, will be underway in early July.

And we are already looking forward to the end of next season with the eighth dinner already confirmed for Saturday 28th April 2012.
