He's told them they will need every ounce of their experience tonight as they step into the Turf Moor atmosphere. "It can be hard going to a promoted team's ground early on," he said. "You can imagine what the atmosphere is going to be like at Burnley, it's going to be red hot.
"It'll be a flag day, it's going to be a big occasion for them, but hopefully that's where our experience helps in these situations."
And of Burnley's achievement in reaching the Premier League he added: "Burnley is a fantastic story. They've been outside the top league for 33 years, it's a long time. No matter what happens this season, they won't forget this. It'll be a great experience.
"I watched them last season, I saw them against Arsenal and they were fantastic. They played really well."
Owen Coyle leads his Burnley side out for the first competitive game at Turf Moor since the Wembley triumph and it couldn't have been a bigger game for us.
"I think it is fitting that the first home game with Burnley back in the Premier League is against the Champions, Manchester United," Coyle said. "
"I think the whole town are excited about the prospect and when the ball rolls we have to make sure we do ourselves justice and try to get some points from the game. Manchester United have unbelievable strength in depth and the quality they have is there for everybody to see.
"The atmosphere will be brilliant and f we can replicate the form we showed against the elite teams last season we will have a chance, but we are going to have to be at our maximum that's for sure. Anything less, then we will be undone, but if we do get to that standard and consistency we can get points, I've no doubt about that.
"We watched United's game with Birmingham on Sunday and at any given moment they can show their quality because they pass and move the ball so effectively. They are very gifted, with pace and power in abundance, but that's why they are one of the best teams in world football."
Speaking about is own squad, Coyle added: "The margins for error in the Premier League are minimal, but as the season goes we will get better because we will evolve at this level and the younger players will develop.
"We will retain the belief that we can pass and move the ball, but we will have to do that with real care on Wednesday night because if we give the ball away cheaply we'll be punished.
"We knew how tough the fixtures are coming our way, but each and every game I will approach in the same way and we won't be discouraged or disillusioned. We knew there will be tough times this season, but that won't faze us in our objective of getting the ball down and earning points.
"My focus is just on Wednesday now and we'll do everything we can to show we can get about the champions and play well."
Speaking about the fans Coyle said: "I thought our fans were unbelievable at Stoke and if we bring that backing to Wednesday night it can serve the club well. The players will give everything they can to put a smile on the supporters' faces once again. The players respond to their encouragement and backing and they will play a big part. We have to earn the right to make sure we stay there and we'll do everything in our power to do that."
