We can be more clinical, but we'll take the positives

It's six consecutive wins now for Coyle's side and after this latest win he said: "When we passed and moved it about some of the play in the first half was terrific, culminating in real goalscoring opportunities.

"It probably should have resulted in more goals than it did in the first half, but there were a lot of pleasing aspects. It was exciting to watch, and that's what we want.

"I was certainly pleased with the first 45 minutes. I thought we were terrific. Inverness more often than not had everybody behind the ball, and had a good shape about them.

"We could have been 2-0 up within the first ten minutes with a couple of great opportunities, then we scored a couple of great goals before half time and had some great chances in the first half, so we certainly merited our 2-0 lead.

"I was disappointed if the truth be told in the second half because we never got going. I know we made a number of substitutions as you do and you lose the fluency. I said to them at full time, you can't just come out and flick a switch and think it will happen.

"We have to make sure we keep the pace of the game at our level. As soon as we come down a couple of notches it is difficult to get going again and that probably happened in the second half.

"We can still be more clinical, but we'll certainly take the positives from the first half and we'll go away and work on some of the stuff from the second half."

Coyle had a word of caution for a couple of his players who he believes are possibly trying too hard to impress. He said: "Chris Eagles, as we know, is a talented footballer, there's no doubt about that. He can score a goal, create a goal and looks an exciting talent.

"I just think at one point he was trying too hard and I felt even Martin Paterson was. The fact that they've been away and played eight games away from Turf Moor means they're desperate to impress everybody.

"They don't have to be working too hard to do that because we know they are good players. That's why they are at this football club."
