There are elements in our game that we are improving on

It was our sixth win of the season on Saturday, all at home, and Laws is now looking to put things right on the road. "The obvious problem away from home is that we just can't get a win and that has to be the objective," he said before leaving for London.

"That means a change of mentality and after a good win at home on Saturday we are in the mood. Yes, we know that 90 per cent of our success this season has been down to our home form, but Stoke survived initially on their home form and Hull did it, so we know that can be done. But we've only had one point away, at Manchester City, and so there is only one way we can go and that is upwards.

"Each game that goes by makes it tougher, and we've had some tough games to start with. But there are elements in our game that we are improving on and the players are buying into that fact. We've been hard to beat and that's what we have to take into all games now."

Laws continued: "We can take a lot out of the result at the weekend to take to Craven Cottage and the good thing is that we have a clean bill of health from Saturday, which is pleasing.

"Fulham will be looking at this game as one to get going again, but maybe this is not a bad time to be playing them and if we can achieve a result before we head off for a few days warm weather training that would be fantastic."
