It's mind blowing and I think it is ruining the game

Stan was busy complaining about the standard of refereeing whilst Norwich boss Nigel Worthington wanted to talk about his three loan signings.

Worthington said: "Getting in three players of their calibre is a huge plus for us. With the money I've spent I certainly wouldn't have been able to bring in men of their calibre on a permanent basis.

"The problem will come though in three months time when we'll need to find some more cash to get in some more loan players but at the moment I'm delighted and I'm sure, given time, they'll get even better.

"One thing I can guarantee is that they're all going to get fitter because of the way we train and the way we work and they are also going to be playing regular first-team football, which they haven't been doing for a while, so hopefully they will prove a real asset for this football club."

Onto the game and Worthington added, "I thought we played very well at times and created a lot of chances against a good Burnley side. On another day we could have scored a lot more but I'm delighted with 2-0."

Stan meanwhile thought the Clarets played well and were let down by referee Clive Penton, particularly with a decision late in the first half when he felt we should have had a penalty.

"I’m disappointed with the result," said Stan. "But I thought we played quite well with the two sides quite well matched.

"I also thought we had a bang to rights penalty in the first half and everyone in the ground thought so. It went so quiet, it was like a morgue. It was blatant and even their players said so but we just have to get on with it. But it’s mind blowing and I think it is ruining the game.

"All in all though it was a good entertaining match, end to end, and we created numerous chances. We just couldn’t get it in. The scoreline flattered them but we have the chance to put that right on Tuesday."
