It's a game I want to win

Robins was the choice to replace Simon Davey after Barnsley's poor start to the season and he jumped at the chance to move from Rotherham where he had somehow kept them in the division comfortably last season after starting with a seventeen point deficit, and then to the top of the league this season.

Looking forward to tonight's game Robins said: "We will have to wait and see what team Burnley send out. Our priority is just winning the next game while there's has to be staying in the Premier League.

"We want to build the confidence back by winning games so we will field our strongest side possible. We want to have a good go in this competition.

"Our biggest game is the next one. That is our only priority at the moment and we want to win matches. It is important and we all know what a decent cup run can do to a club. Getting a winning habit is all important in football and we will go into the game in that frame of mind.

"I have been in football for a long, long time and it is all important to win. We will, however, have to be at our very, very best against an extremely good side."

Owen Coyle admitted that he'll make changes to enable some of his squad to stake a claim for a place in the Premier League match day squad. "There will be changes against Barnsley to freshen it up a little bit and give one or two an opportunity," he said.

"I don't think there will be as many as ten changes we had at Hartlepool but we will make some changes within the line up. Having said that, I believe the players who will come in are first team players and are good enough to play in the Burnley first team and it will be up to them to prove us right. I want them to go and express themselves and show the reason why we brought them here."

Looking forward to the game the Clarets boss saw in Barnsley what had been our situation just a year ago. "Barnsley will probably be very similar to ourselves in many ways from last year in terms of their Carling Cup run in that they are a Championship club who have not started the season the way they would have liked but who have picked up in the last couple of games.

"We were in that type of run and the Carling Cup really ignited our season and went hand in hand with our Championship form. I recognise that Barnsley might well look at it and think 'this could be the catalyst for us to do that as well'.

"Barnsley away is a tough game at the best of times. They will be boosted and buoyed by a new manager and want to impress so we will have to make sure we are at our very best because that's all that will be good enough.

"It's a game I want to win. We had a terrific run in the Carling Cup last year and would love an extended run again, but to do that you have to perform at your maximum against some very good sides and we know that will be the case against Barnsley.
