I think it is a valuable point and a very hard earned one

Birmingham were looking for their first home win since the beginning of October, and only their third home win of the season, but they were never in front.

Manager Lee Clark said afterwards: "It was an exciting game against a really good team and a team that are always looking to win the game no matter what the scoreline is or whatever period of the game it is. For us to perform the way we did and get a point in the manner we did we're delighted."

He was damaging the advertising hoardings at the end and asked whether they deserved the point he added: "Without a doubt. That why that emotion at the end was there and that's why I was celebrating the way I was.

"It was for the fans and the players. If they had come off that pitch having lost that game it would have been criminal that they didn't get anything for their efforts. We were brave, we created chances and we stuck to the game plan.

"There was nothing in the first half. We made half an error and we got punished to go one down and Darren Randolph isn't making lots of saves before that. Then the game opens up and we create as much as them.

"Burnley were still going for the jugular when it was 3-3. That's the way they play and why they are where they are, because they've got brilliant players that are playing on top of their game and a great group ethic.

"For us to get a result like this so late in the day is a huge boost for us. If we can do it against a quality team like Burnley it sets us up well for the rest of the season. We have to take that level of endeavour, performance and commitment into the next game."

Sean Dyche saw the Clarets go in front three times and then lose a dramatic and controversial third goal deep into stoppage time but he was very positive afterwards. "I think it is a valuable point and a very hard earned one," he said.

"Coming off the big game at the weekend people were wondering 'could they go again?'  and we pretty much did. We can play a lot better than that, but the marvel of what we are achieving as a group is that we never give in.

"We kept going and going and going, took the 3-2 lead, but sometimes referees get it wrong and I felt tonight he did and unfortunately that sometimes happens.

"It's not easy to go away from home and get the three points, but we so nearly did. We can only affect our performance and overall we probably edged it and did enough, but the things out of our hands are those big decisions and they went against us tonight."

Dyche concluded: "It's a great value of what we have as a group because we know that we can play better than that tonight, yet we still kept coming right until the end.

"We're disappointed in two of the goals we conceded. One was a great strike and sometimes you just hold your hand up. Another was taken out of our hands by the referee. We looked like we could earn another win tonight, but sometimes it goes against you."
